Getting to TeotihuacanTeotihuacan is located 25 miles north of Mexico City, Mexico. So naturally, the best way to get there is to fly into Mexico City. Once you are checked into your hotel in Mexico City, you will have three options to get to Teotihuacan. Take a taxi, the city bus, or a tour bus. Tour buses can be arranged through some hotels, or in advance through a travel agency and is probably your best and safest option. They will get you straight to the ruins and right back to your hotel. The other two options are for those who didn't book any advance travel reservations. The taxi is the most expensive route and will get you to the ruins in approximately 45 minutes. The city bus is the cheaper way, but slightly slower mode of transportation. Buses arrive at Teotihuacan from both the Line 3 and Line 5 Metro stations every 30 minutes. |

Around TeotihuacanOnce at Teotihuacan, you will find plenty of restaurants and souvenir stands outside and inside the grounds. There are also several people walking around trying to sell trinkets of all shapes and sizes. The Museum on the grounds has a good restaurant and is well worth the air conditioned break from the extremely hot sun. There is only one hotel near the site, but it is a good quality hotel. One thing you may be surprised by is the fact that you can drive a car around the site. Due to the sheer size of the site, it may be a good idea to either rent a bike or even a car while you are there. Although, if you are in decent physical shape, walking around is not impossible. When you want to leave the area, the best way back to Mexico City is by bus. Buses depart the entrance of the ruins every 30 to 40 minutes until the park closes at night. |
