The 'Must Sees' in Rome

As we mentioned, there is a lot to do in Rome. Vatican City itself can take a full day. The Sistine Chapel is a must see and the only way to get there is to walk through the long, but amazing Vatican Museum. There is nothing quite like seeing Michelangelo's famous paintings in the Sistine Chapel in person. Another famous Michelangelo work in the Vatican is his Pieta statue in St. Peter's Basilica. Another 'must see' area in Rome are the famous Spanish Steps. There are a lot of high end shops in the plaza at the bottom of the steps. The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain are relatively close to each other and can be visited on the same walk. The Pantheon is one of the oldest continuously used buildings in the world and it is also one of the oldest domed structures in the world. Be sure to come back to Trevi fountain and night and don't forget to throw in a coin to guarantee your return to Rome! As you can see, there is lots to see and do in Rome, don't be afraid to walk off the beaten path, you'll wind up having the most fun just exploring this wonderful city on foot.
